Aristocrat Gaming has introduced MONOPOLY Big Board Bucks across 14 Puerto Rico casinos using the Jackpot del Encanto linked progressive network. The 15 July announcement is a product story, but it is equally an infrastructure and operating-coordination story.
What was deployed
The company unveiled the title at Casino Metro in San Juan and said it was available at 14 operating casinos around the island. The game runs on the Baron Portrait cabinet and is integrated with Jackpot del Encanto, a shared progressive system that links compatible products at multiple properties.
Aristocrat identified the title as the first release under its multi-year licence with Hasbro. The release describes a board-game-derived feature set and a starting jackpot of US$20,000. Those product and configuration details come from the manufacturer; no independent performance results, installation count by property or commercial terms were disclosed.
Why a linked release is operationally different
A stand-alone cabinet can be installed, tested and managed within one casino. A multi-property link introduces a wider set of dependencies: communications uptime, jackpot accounting, contribution rules, meter synchronization, regulatory approval, incident procedures and consistent display behaviour across participating locations.
It also changes the commercial launch. Marketing can be coordinated across a market rather than a single floor, while a common jackpot meter gives separate properties a shared event. The supplier and operators still need clear responsibility for monitoring, maintenance and dispute handling. A network’s customer-facing simplicity is built on back-end complexity.
A linked jackpot looks like one product to the public, but operates as a collaboration among properties, systems teams, regulators and a supplier.
Puerto Rico as a network market
The manufacturer said the rollout follows an established multi-casino model in Puerto Rico. Juan Carlos Santaella Marchán, executive director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, framed the deployment as evidence of investment in a regulated industry and linked casino activity to public-revenue beneficiaries. For equipment makers, a successful linked program can support recurring content releases on an installed cabinet base. For operators, the value proposition depends on measurable floor performance, reliability and the effect on adjacent games—not only the size of the common top award.
